Community Service Opportunity at the Greater Boston Food Bank
The MLK Action Project is sponsoring a community service trip to the
Greater Boston Food Bank on Wednesday, November 7. The bus will
leave from the LS flagpole at 12:40 and return to the LS parking lot no
later than 5:00 pm. Volunteers will receive 3 hours of community
All are welcome! Sign up via email no later than Monday, November 5 to
Tracy_Burke@lsrhs.net. Once you sign up, you will receive an e-
permission slip which must be signed by a parent/guardian and
returned before you can volunteer at the food bank.
Class of 2020 Needs Your Help!
We are looking for someone to design a long sleeve shirt and
sweatpants for the Powder Puff game. The designs are due to
Ms. Idelson or Ms. Thompson in the math department by end of
day on Friday, October 26. The design that is picked will be used
and the designer will receive a free set of Powder Puff gear!

The Jimmy Mack Rocktoberfest Concert
The MLKAction Project, LS' community service organization, and
the L-S Musician’s Union will team up again to present “The
Jimmy Mack Rocktoberfest,” a concert featuring L-S’s talented
rock groups to benefit AIDS research and education and to honor
those L-S alum stricken by AIDS. Jimmy McIntyre, the first known
L-S alumnus to succumb to AIDS, and thus the namesake of the
concert, was the youngest musical director at WBCN. Come
enjoy the music and help defeat this international pandemic. LS

The math olympiad will be held in the LS cafeteria on Thursday
10/18. This is a challenging math exam which is optional for
students to take. For more information or to sign up to take the
