Want to let someone know how "Deer" they are? Why not purchase a
candy gram? The students traveling to Tanzania in February will be
selling candy grams. For $1 you can send a special message and a bag
of candy to brighten someone's day. Candy grams will be sold outside
the cafe before school or during lunches through Wednesday,
December 20. They will be delivered to mailboxes by Thursday,
December 21.

Write a letter, save a life...and get a cookie! Amnesty International's
Write for Rights Global Write-a-thon is the world's largest letter writing
event. We will write letters on behalf of prisoners of conscience, human
rights defenders, and torture survivors. Last year your letters were
among the 4.6 million that helped free Albert Woodfox, Phyoe Phyoe
Aung, Yecenia Armenta, and Fred Bauma from prison. Join us during
lunch and ACA on Dec. 12, 13, and 14, in Conference Room B near the

The LSB Players winter production is seeking brave artists to participate
as scenic artists in our children's show, The Emperor's New Clothes.
Participation would require attendance during our tech week (January

Each year the Lincoln Sudbury Teachers Association raises money for
the Paul J. Vernon Memorial Scholarship to be awarded to a graduating
senior. On Wednesday, December 13, 2017 the Lincoln Sudbury
Teachers Association will be holding a silent auction and raffle to raise
money for the 2018 Scholarship Award. Local businesses and LS Staff
have generously donated gift baskets, gift cards, and many other
unique items. Come to the LSRHS Cafe from 8am to 3pm on December
13 to be a part of this fundraising event. Only $1 per raffle ticket!!

The Cambodia/ Memorial School Club will be meeting every Wednesday
between now and December break to work on 2 fundraisers, the
Coffeehouse for Cambodia (This Fri, Dec. 1st, at the LS cafeteria!) and
the sale of Cocoa Deer for the Winter holidays.
We hope to see as many members as possible as we prepare for these
events, every Wednesday during ACA in Room C358.

2018 Atkinson Scholarship Applications Available
Award is based on a Combination of Need and Merit
Application Deadline: February 1, 2018

The Sudbury Foundation’s Atkinson Scholarship Program offers 15
qualified high school seniors up to $5,000 a year
in financial assistance, with an option to reapply each year of their
undergraduate academic career.

The scholarships are designed to recognize and assist local students
with financial need, academic promise and the
capacity to make a meaningful contribution to society.

The application form may be downloaded from the Foundation’s website

also available in the L-S Guidance Offices.

To be eligible for an Atkinson Scholarship, an applicant must be a high
school senior planning to attend an accredited
two or four-year college, university, nursing school or approved
vocational/professional development program. In
addition, the applicant must be either:
o Enrolled at Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School; OR
o A Sudbury resident or the dependent of a Sudbury resident; OR
o A dependent of a full-time Town of Sudbury employee or full-time L-
S employee.

The deadline for applications is February 1, 2018. Awards will be
announced in early April 2018. (The Atkinson
Scholarship Program is not related to the Lincoln-Sudbury Scholarship
Fund. A separate application is required.)
